I recently watched David Attenborough’s documentary called the ‘Private Life of Plants’. He leads you on a journey of how nature created the biosphere so that we can survive. Nature provides food, shelter and oxygen – it literally feeds the world. We should be thankful and love and protect it by reuniting with her.
We are made up of 5 elements: Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Spirit. Plants are also made up of these 5 elements: carbon dioxide, rain, sun, soil and now scientists have proven they have emotions. They communicate with each other through their root system, they nurture their young, help each other find nutrients, they will send out signals of distress when they are threatened and surprisingly will go to war if they have to against a predator. The world is thriving under our very feet and yet most of us are not conscious of this at all.
When we consume botanicals we are consuming the intelligence of the plant. I feel the plant will help correct the imbalances inside my body. Not just with nutrition but with the correction of the 5 elements. The plant kingdom will also try to balance the elements within itself to maintain its strength and health.
For example, if you have too much fluid within your body, herbs can help remove that. If your stressed from the demands of everyday life, a herbal nervine can calm you. Nature has provided many a cure for our every day ailments.
The plant kingdom had been used for its healing properties to calm and nourish us, restore us, guide us through meditation and dreams, for vision quests, to heal emotional and physiological issues. The list is endless. For me, botanicals help me physically, emotionally and spiritually.
This is why I use herbs with a strong life force in every product I create. You will see in my formulas 3 to 4 herbs with no fillers because I want you to feel the healing energy of these plants. Let nature do its work.
I have reconnected back into nature by growing my own medicinal garden. I have never been a gardener, but through intent and connection the plants are thriving. Maybe you should think about growing some herbs and starting your own journey. We need to know how to heal and nourish ourselves.
